Breakfast

Breakfast in the conservatory

A full breakfast is included with every room. It is served in courses, much like our evening menu, and you can take it in the conservatory with freshly ground coffee and, with luck, some Devon sunshine.

Evenings

A glass of wine in the sitting room

End the day in one of our sitting rooms with a drink from the bar. Claire has furnished them herself, with pieces found at auctions and flea markets, so they feel like rooms in a house rather than a hotel lounge.

A gravel path through the Hartnoll garden
03 A walk in the garden

Dogs welcome

Bring the dog

Our dog-friendly rooms are in the Gatehouse. Let us know when you book. There is a small charge, and every four-legged guest gets a treat box.

The River Exe winding through the valley
04 The Exe Valley

The valley

On the edge of Exmoor

We are only minutes from Junction 27 of the M5, perfectly placed for exploring the West Country, Somerset, Devon and Exmoor. The hotel has its own fishing beat on the River Exe, about two miles up the valley.

Coming to a wedding?
